[Review] Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skin Tone Illuminator

Image from www.esteelauder.com

What it claims
From Estee Lauder website:
The first fast-acting serum from Estee Lauder Research proven to dramatically reduce the look of uneven skin tone : redness, acne marks, dark spots, sun spots, discolorations.

Packaging
[50 ml bottle] Airtight, opaque pump bottle with a cap (not shown in the picture). Good to preserve the antioxidant inside. The smaller sized bottle (30 ml) might not be pump bottle and airtight though.

My Skin Type
Normal to dry. Sometimes oily in the T-zone. Some freckles/sunspots. Small pores. Some whiteheads. Fair to medium skintone.

Texture
The serum goes on smooth, it is in beige color and have tiny shimmers in it (but totally not visible on my skin, it just make my skin looks healthier upon application). It's easily absorbed and not oily. No tightening or drying feel as well.

My Review
I have been using this for few months now, first twice a day (AM-PM) then recently I only use it in the morning because at night I use another serum. I'll say it's effective in reducing the redness on my cheeks (those small capillaries due to sensitive skin) and I feel that my skin tone is more even compared to when I haven't used it. My skin does look healthier but not whiter / brighter (it doesn't claim to whiten/brighten your skin, BTW).
My pimple marks fade faster as compared to usual, but haven't completely disappeared (I seldom have pimple, but when I do, it takes sometime for the mark to be gone). As for my freckles, honestly I haven't seen much improvement. But I haven't found any product that can lighten them anyway. They just helped to keep the freckles color light and not darker.
Composition wise, I feel that this serum is well formulated and contains many beneficial ingredients for evening skin tone such as Ascorbyl Glucoside (a stable form of Vitamin C), turmeric root extract, mulberry root extract, cucumber fruit extract, trametes versicolor extract, etc.

Who might like it?
Anyone who desires to have more even skin tone, fade redness due to sensitivity or rosacea, and those who want their pimple marks to fade faster.
Anyone who prefers gentle skincare with sophisticated ingredients and don't mind to pay more.

Who might not like it?
Anyone who doesn't like expensive skincare (right, to me it's pricey)
Anyone who expect a miracle cream to fade his/her freckles/sunspots fast
Anyone who expect it to make the skin tone whiter or brighter significantly

Price
Currently retailed for $100 (30ml) and $150 (50ml) in Singapore's Estee Lauder counters. I bought it at Changi Airport duty free for a cheaper price but cannot remember the exact price.

How to Use
Pump out 1-3 times. Apply evenly on clean face after your toner or Japanese lotion (equals to toner in western skincare). Follow with your favorite moisturizer and sunscreen if it's in daytime.

My Final Verdict
I love it!
4/5.
I will buy again when it runs out, and if my budget permits. Who doesn't love evened out skin? Many other serums brighten my skin, but not many can visibly even it out.
